Magazine Club
USAG Fort Knox CYS, Fort Knox, KY
The Magazine Club is Devers Middle School and Teen Center's newest Club. The Club members create a polished, professional quality magazine made up of their own writings and photograph from start to finish. The published magazine is beneficial to not only youth but the center and community. The purpose of the Magazine Club is to provide the youth with a venue in which they can voice their opinions, ideas and interests. It is a positive and creative medium for youth to address issues that are important to them.
The goals of Fort Knox Devers Boys & Girls Club include improving youth's writing skills and introducing them to basic marketing, journalism, and research. They aim to encourage self-expression through writing and photography, develop youth's self-esteem through a variety of venues (articles, stories, event coverage, photography, teach youth life skills such as meeting deadlines, academic writing, and team work, and teach youth the five pillars of character.
