Power Hour program reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people during the time they spend at the Club. Staff use all the areas and programs in the Club to create opportunities for high-yield learning activities such as leisure reading, writing activities, discussions with knowledgeable adults, helping others, homework help, tutoring and games (such as Scrabble) that develop young people’s cognitive skills.
Diplomas to Degrees is an intensive college readiness program that helps provide the tools, resources, and support Boys & Girls Club teens need to better prepare them for the transition from high school students to college graduates. The program is designed to help youth develop short and long-term goals; explore post-secondary institutions to familiarize themselves with the college lifestyle; pursue and secure essential financial assistance; and foster supportive relationships with caring adults who can provide ongoing advice and mentorship throughout their academic experience.

Money Matters program promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, create a budget, save and invest, start small businesses and pay for college.
Summer Brain Gain is comprised of one-week modules with fun, themed activities for elementary school, middle school and high school students. Each module takes a project-based learning approach: youth engage in a process of learning through discovery, creative expression, group work and a final project or production. As a result, kids develop higher-order thinking skills through the Summer Brain Gain modules while staying on track for the coming school year. |
